Our school is named after Emilija Pliateryte. She was a captain and took an active part in the rebellion of 1831. The school is located in the centre of Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania, on the river Neris.

There are 75 teachers and about 700 pupils in our school (up to 24 pupils in each primary class and up to 30 pupils in each  lower secondary  class.
Primary classes include pupils from the age of 7 up to the age of 10. The length of the programme is 4 years. Children have Lithuanian, Maths,Science, Ethics/Religion, Art, PE, Crafts, Music and English. They start learning English as the first foreign language in Year 2.

Lower secondary education provides pupils with a possibility to learn French, German or Russian as the second foreign language. They start to study new subjects such as  History, Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry. Pupils take a four- year programme and move on to gymnasiums or secondary schools at the age of 14.

Pupils have the opportunity to take part in extra- curricular activities, including dance classes, art classes, choir, playing the guitar lessons, cooking, sports clubs, etc.
The school also has project days or weeks  around the school year.
